So, the gap you are seeing is right where the  is - after the close of the table and before the div tag? Perhaps the div tag has some padding around it? I know firebug is a great addon for firefox to figure these things out, I would guess there is something similar for IE. You might want to see about that and see if you can figure it out using something like that.
