Permission issues
Hi - New to VB and trying to figure out the permissions features.
I plan to have numerous categories with 2 forums each (each category will be named for each one of our customers). My initial idea was to have each user in the 'Customer' usergroup. Each user in this group would be limited to only their 'category' by using access masks but it doesn't seem to be working properly. I was able to create an individual usergroup for every customer as well and limit the access, but that is double the creation if I have to create groups and users. Shouldn't the access mask work alone? It seems straight forward but I must be missing something. I will also have a usergroup that has access to all of the categories and forums. Thanks for the help. |

I usually use Access Masks to grant access to forums a user wouldn't normally be allowed to see. So, using your setup, you would make it so users in that usergroup cannot see any of the forums by default. Then, you would grant each user access to his/her forums using the Access Masks.
