Default Moderator Control Panel woes

Ok, so I'm trying to give all my mods access to the control panel.

First off, even if give their group the ability to use the ACP, which also adds the link to the MCP, they can't login to the MCP as it keeps sending them back to the login screen.

This is very frustrating to me. All I want is for my moderators to be able to access the MCP without having to let them access the ACP.

1. Are they in a moderator group?
2. Are they set as moderators in the forums section?
3. Have you set their moderator permissions (Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Show All Moderators -> Edit Permissions)?

You definitely do not have to give them Admin CP access in order to do it. If this is done, are you sure the issue is not cookie-related?

I finally figured out how to give them only access to the MCP, but I'm not exactly happy that I had to make the group a "Super Moderator" group to do this.

There's gotta be another way of doing this without having to let my mods moderate every forum.

There is, did you follow what I said above? I just tested it on my forum, this is what I did...

1. Went to AdminCP
2. Went to Forums & Moderators then Forum Manager
3. Clicked on the dropdown for the forum I wanted, then selected "Add Moderator."
4. Entered the Moderator's Name
5. Selected Usergroup (Moderator, not marked as "Super Moderator")
6. Set the User Permissions
7. Saved

Now I logged into the account I setup as a moderator and was able to only moderate the forum I added the moderator to and still access the ModCP.

Try this again, if it doesn't work and they're still getting looped logins to the ModCP it's probably another issue.

I am having a similar issue. I have given them all of the permission, added them to a usergroup. They can do all the things a Mod can, but they can not see the "MOD" link at the bottom of the pages ...

I don't believe they'll see the link unless they're a super moderator. Just have them go to the /modcp directory.
