Default Show On Two Pages?

Is it possible to show a section of my forum on two different pages?

For example:

Have the normal full forum at: mysite.com/forums

And then show just a particular section of the forums on my main index page (mysite.com) not the forum index page...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you write the query, it will show....

Find the query for the forums and put it in your main index page and just limit it to a particular forum.

Would it be possible to arrange some "step by step" instructions for this (I have very minimal knowledge when it comes to something like this)?

Well, what is your index page like so far? Did you use this [How-To] vBulletin API Basics: Creating Custom Pages & Misc. to write it? It's hard to say anything more specific when we don't know exactly where you are at and exactly where you want to get to.

I apologize if my original post was a bit vague. I'll do my best to be a little more specific in explaining what I would ultimately like.

For simplicity's sake, lets say that my website is http://www.mysite.com and that there is just plain text there (on the homepage).

Lets say that the forums for my site are located at http://www.mysite.com/forums/index.php.

Lets say my forums have three categories. For example: Apples, Oranges, Bananas

Each category has several forums/threads (red apples, green apples, etc...).

Would it be possible to display the "Apples" section/category of my forum on my homepage (mysite.com) AS WELL AS in it's original place in the forums?

To go one step further (and confuse everyone in the process), would it be possible to find a way to rotate each forum in the "Apples" category (the one being displayed on the homepage) after each visit to my website, while also having the option not to have it rotate in it's regular place in the actual forums?

Please let me know if that makes any sense at all (I apologize in advance for the confusion)!

Simple answer, yes it is possible. Almost anything is possible if you code it.

However, am I going to figure out how to do it and paste the code here? Um, no. You may be able to get someone to do that coding for you in the Modification Requests (Unpaid) or Modification Requests (Paid) forums.

I can, however, point you to the index.php page around line 550 where the code is to get the forum information. You may want to look closely at the function construct_forum_bit (which happens to be in includes/functions_forumlist.php). That should help you out if you are going to code it yourself.

Thank you for all of the information!

Would it be possible for you to move this thread to an appropriate section of the forum where I could ask for help in this matter?

I'd be happy to pay for this, so if you know of anyone personally willing and able to assist it would be greatly appreciated!

You should make a separate thread in the other sections if that is the route you want to go.
Modification Requests (Unpaid)
Requests For Paid Services
