I have not been able to find any scripts for an external login that works in 3.8.

Any reason why VB doesnt inlcude a set of SSI functions to handls these common issues like every other FREE forum out there?

What functionality are you looking for? To log someone in, it is as simple as setting two cookies... (Look in functions_login.php)
