Where are soft delted posts.
Im very new to this. I have 2 MODS on my site and one of them deleted a post. Where do I find it in the AdminCP to review the post to decide if I should reinstate it. I looking but I just can find it.

If it's soft-deleted then (as an admin/mod) you will see it in the discussion section it's supposed to be in (it will have a note that it is deleted, so other people won't see it). If it's not in the thread listing where it should be in, then it was a full physical delete.

He means it should still be in the forum, exactly where it was before. It's just that nobody but the mods should be able to see it, and it will be marked as deleted. There will be a button to view the post.
Note that apparently sometimes either soft-delete doesn't work, or moderators accidentally hard delete. This happened to me a couple months ago where I couldn't find the deleted post to review it. But she swore she didn't hard delete it. I dunno. |

Moderator actions can be checked in the Moderator Log in admincp.
The Moderator Log also has date and time of action. If you know the name of the moderator that deleted the post or the date then you should have no trouble locating the action to the post. If it was soft-deleted (recoverable) the entry will say Thread Soft Deleted. There will also be a link to the post. If the post was removed permanently (unrecoverable unless the database was backed up) the entry will say Post by (name of moderator) Deleted. There is a link to the thread in which the post was deleted. Check the thread, as others suggested. There will be no link to the post - only a link to the thread. |
