Default Reports to post as the person being reported?

Is there a hack of some sort to make the reports show up in the thread as the person who has been reported?

I have no idea what that means. Can you give an example?

when the post is reported, you can see who posted the post that is being reported

this is built in already

Are you talking about in the title? Default (reportpost_newthread) is:
Reported Post by $reportinfo[rusername]

I've modified mine to be:
$reportinfo[today] REPORT: $reportinfo[forumtitle] - $reportinfo[pusername]

That gives me the date, the forum title (so my mods know which are the ones they need to deal with) and the name of the person who made the post beling reported. I don't think $reportinfo[today] will work by default - I modified my code for that - but the others will work.

What I'm talking about is when a member makes a report, the report shows up in a thread, and the thread starter is the person who reported the thread, however, I want the thread starter to be the one who was reported. Does this make since?

You will have to modify the actual code to get it to do that. It sounds like that could cause problems even though I can't think of exactly what problems it may cause. Well, if the user being reported is banned and isn't allowed to post, it may cause an error.

Can I ask why you want to do this?

Because we are thinking of having open reports, and would not want the person reported to know who reported them, so it would show up in there name.

looks like the old trick i've made for cf.com... it's just a file edit in the functions_report.php or something similar, i did not check, but yes, it's possible...

btw, open reports will give you 5X more work than the regular technique, and the result will be worst... people will start complaining and rant on each report, trying to make a point, then they play the game for a week or two and then start acting again... never ending story.

Yeah I just wanted to see if it was possible, I been chatting with my staff, and they are not thrilled about it, so I don't think it'll be open.. Thanks though, for the answers.
