Can I get a checklist of all things that need to be enabled/disabled in order for avatars to show up? I went through everything I could find and they still don't appear. I was even able to set my avatar and it doesn't show up in posts.
--------------- Added [DATE]1239160518[/DATE] at [TIME]1239160518[/TIME] --------------- File upload failed. Ah, didn't notice that before. Why would that occur? Permissions are 777 on the avatar folder |

Avatar file size might be too big. If your PHP_MAX_UPLOAD variable is set at the default 2MB then it doesn't matter what file size you specify in the AdminCP - 2MB is as large as it gets.

It's at 50MB. Size is not the issue. I also did the diagnostic upload with the same file:
Code:
file_uploads: On open_basedir: None safe_mode: Off upload_tmp_dir: None upload_max_filesize: 50.00 MB Results: No errors occurred while opening the uploaded file for reading. As you can see, the file can apparently be opened after upload? --------------- Added [DATE]1239162786[/DATE] at [TIME]1239162786[/TIME] --------------- Ok, this is going to sound crazy but it uploaded my avatar and it is working fine even though it says "file upload failed" ... I can only wish I knew what was going on -_- |

And you're absolutely certain that the file permissions are 777? Not 766? Because that might mess something up.

ah, maybe I was looking at the wrong folder. I think I may have fixed all issues now -- customavatars is now 777
I think before, it seemed fixed because the image was in my cache or something. --------------- Added [DATE]1239163848[/DATE] at [TIME]1239163848[/TIME] --------------- Then again maybe not... how do I know which avatars folder it should be showing up in? |

Check your forum path. Then check your avatar upload directory. Append the avatar upload directory to the end of your forum path and that's the one you should be using.

Ok, I have no idea what's going on. Go to pandataskforce.com and let me know if you can see my avatar or not, please.

I can. It's the pillsberry dough boy.
Maybe your browser has a caching problem. Firefox: Hold SHIFT and press the refresh button on the toolbar Internet Explorer: Hold CTRL and press the refresh button on the toolbar |

On a side note, your cookies aren't being set correctly. You probably changed the forums so that they're in a subdirectory of the website now. You can try uploading tools.php and running the automatic cookie fixer if you don't want to fix it yourself.
