Default Questions before buying VB, moving from phpbb...

hi,
please move this topic to correct section if i am posting in wrong section.
#1
i am currently using phpbb but now i want to use Vb, before buying VB i have some questions in my mind because i am new to vb.
first of all i need some mods/plugIns and i want to know if they are available in vb or not, if they are available then are these already installed/bulleting?

1 = quick reply
2 = View PM's of all users in CP. (Spy PM in phpbb)
3 = view ip with every post for admins
4 = welcome PM to new users
5 = Post count changer / increaser / modifier
6 = Fonts
7 = reputation or thanks functions
8- send PM to all users at once
9 = A Mod which can Add "Resolved" or something similar to this in Thread Title.
like "Topic Prefix Tags" Mod
10 = a mod/plugIn Automatically moves users into a special group when they are banned. This allows you to visually indicate that a user has been
banned through the use of group attributes, such as a custom rank
image. Users will be removed from the group when they are manually
unbanned or when their temporary ban has ended.
11 = warn user by x warning, automatic ban on 100%

are these PlugIns available in vb, if yes, then which of these are bulletin?
are these free?

#2

can i move from phpbb v3.0.4 included all data to vb?
if yes, then any tutorial for this?

#3

can i get any list of comparisons between Vb and phpbb?
why vb is better and why should i move to vb?

#4

will i get all the help and support needed for free if i buy vb?

---

Thanks!

Default

there is no need for comparaison list... all the features you ask in point #1 are already included by default in vBulletin, just the spy pm that is a hack released on this site.

you can ImpEx your old phpBB without a loss

you need to go to the official http://vbulletin.com/forum/ place for more details in how phpBB is different... the site you're on right now is about modifying the default version... it's a bit biased.

Default

1 = quick reply
Default functionality

2 = View PM's of all users in CP. (Spy PM in phpbb)
Possible using a modification or directly in database using a tool like phpMyAdmin

3 = view ip with every post for admins
Default functionality

4 = welcome PM to new users
Default functionality

5 = Post count changer / increaser / modifier
Default functionality. Post count can be changed by editing the user in your AdminCP. Please be aware that rebuilding counters will also set the real postcount back in the profile.

6 = Fonts
Default functionality

7 = reputation or thanks functions
Default functionality. Reputation system is standard. There are modifications for creating a "Thank You" function.

8- send PM to all users at once
This will need a modification.

9 = A Mod which can Add "Resolved" or something similar to this in Thread Title.
like "Topic Prefix Tags" Mod
Default functionality, can be done with Thread Prefixes.

10 = a mod/plugIn Automatically moves users into a special group when they are banned. This allows you to visually indicate that a user has been banned through the use of group attributes, such as a custom rank image. Users will be removed from the group when they are manually unbanned or when their temporary ban has ended.
Default functionality. vBulletin will always place a user in a special usergroup when he is banned.

11 = warn user by x warning, automatic ban on 100%
Default functionality, infraction system.

#2 Yes you can use our ImpEx tool for that (phpBB 3)

#3 You would not get an unbiased opinion on any of the vB (or phpBB) sites. Best is to look for an indepent site to answer such a question.

#4 Every license comes with free access to our Support Ticket system. We can only officially support the default vBulletin product, but you will never be charged for this. Support for modifying your vBulletin beyond the default functionality is not given by our official support (vB.com forums & ticket system). Support for modifications is done by vBulletin users on this site. All modifications released here are free of charge. You should only have to pay someone if you want custom code to be written for you or if you want to hire someone to perform tasks that you can not perform yourself.
