Is there a way to open a PM in a new window, so as to not lose your work while typing?
Thanks. |

actually you can not receive any PM while you are filling an existing form, so you have no trouble loosing your work...

Not so.
I am lead admin, I compose really long posts sometimes, and my users PM me all the time. I'd like to open the PM, reply and then return to what I was doing. Nothing like having 2/3 of a paragraph written when I notice I have an unread message. So far I am forced to copy my work to notepad, then re-paste it back to my editor. Thanks. |

It seems to me like that would be incredibly annoying 95% of the time - If I understand correctly, you want the "__ unread private messages" link to open up in a new window. If this is the case, every time you click that link in the forums, a new window opens up. So if you're just browsing around the forums and need to read a PM, it opens in a separate window, regardless of whether or not you're writing a post.
Seems to me like you should just....not click on any links while you are working on a post ![]() If you absolutely must read a PM while you're typing something, then hold down your shift key and click on the PM link...or just open a new window manually and navigate to the PM. |

Right click on the private messages link and choose 'Open in New tab' or 'Open in new window'. You really need a special mod to do that for you.

Cool, Thanks and yes it's annoying!
Finally promoted 2 members to moderator status to handle a lot of the small stuff, so I can actually enjoy my forum more. |
