submit your site to dmoz.org ... search the right category to put it in... be sure there is a "editor" in that category to have your site listed soon.
why dmoz? because google and yahoo are good, but they are not sharing their index to other search engines. dmoz.org is sending your entry to more than 250 search engines, without any need for you to pay for some service to index your site in multiple places... also, this is a good way to store your site in the index database because it is permanent. if you just submit to a search engine, your site will vanish with others of the same type.
