Make a sub forum not appear in "New Posts"

I found the above, and think it is what you are suggesting i change. I will modify

( <td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="search.php?$session[sessionurl]do=getnew&amp;exclude=xx" accesskey="2">$vbphrase[new_posts_nav]</a></td> )

Im not sure how or what to mass search for.
