Hi everyone,
I have a unique problem. I have put a user into "moderated" category. So I expect that all of his posts and visitor messages should only be seen by a moderator first and then by anyone else. While this works great with posts, it doesn't work quite as well with visitor messages. Meaning that the sender, receiver and the moderators can all see that message on the receiver's profile before it is approved by a mod. I want to make it such that the receiver should not be able to see it unless approved. Any help would be highly appreciated! Thanks, Satyeshwar |

What settings do you have set in the 'moderated' usergroup you put him in under Visitor Messages? You need to set Follow Visitor Message Moderation Rules to No.

Yes, I have this option already set. Despite this, the receiver can still see the visitor message. That's what's troubling me.

I'm guessing that you allow the users to Manage their own Messages which means they can moderate them. (Test that out on a test site, I've never tried that out so I could be wrong.)

Yes I have allowed both regular members as well as moderated members to manage messages withing their own profiles. However, if I do not allow regular members (in this case receivers) to manage their messages, then they won't really be able to delete any messages at all even if they come from other members (and not the moderated ones) which is not what I want.
Is there an option to say manage messages only if they do not come from moderated members? |
