VB Install Subdomain Internal Server Error
I get "Internal Server Error" when trying to install VB on a subdomain. I've read this is usually a problem with the config file, so I must be missing some setting in that file? Can't find what it is....

Its usually a problem in the .htaccess file, not the config file.

Thank you, I'll check that.
One more question - other VB admins that have put forums on subdomains, do you find it helpful in the longrun or more of a hassle? I liked the idea of being able to move different elements of websites to different servers by using subdomains. But am I opening a Pandora's box with future software integrations and VB? |

Subdomains have a life of their own and occasionally do or more often don't do what you expect. Software in generally doesn't like "unexpected"
I don't use subdomains in my forums but I think its a matter of preference and not whether or not it will work. Oops, I lied, I do have a demo and test system in subdomains that seem to work so I see no reason why it shouldn't. HTH, Michael |

Cookies sometimes have trouble with subdomains, however, if the software is configured/coded correctly, this should not be a problem.
