Which RSVP & Event Attendance mods will work?

So I've been doing a lot of searching and reading about the various RSVP, Event Attendance, and thread creation mods available, but there are so many, with different versions and different pre-requisites, I was hoping someone could help me determine exactly which ones I need, and which order they need to be installed. Thanks in advance.

After reading through the mods, I am fairly sure these things can be accomplished, I am just having a hard time sorting out which ones, and what order. Here is what I am trying to do:

A user creates an event (usually a 1-day, all day event) on the User Calendar.
This event also creates a thread in a specified forum, with the details of the event.
Other users can view the event, simply by navigating to the thread (without navigating to the calendar)
Users can RSVP yes, no, or maybe and specify how many guests will be coming.

I know this sounds pretty simple, but if you search the mods section for "rsvp" you will see how I can easily get confused.

The only one that works as a full solution was taken off vb.org, because it contained code from another author. There is no solution and a very large number of admins are in need of this.

I have what you're looking for up and running on a 3.6 board. The fact that the mods haven't been updated to 3.7/3.8 is the reason the board is still running 3.6.

You are nowhere near the only one who is looking for this mod(s).

This is very close to doing what I want, added with Farcaster's RSVP mod. It might be good enough or exactly what some people need.

It's close, but right now,I need a way to automatically added someone to a social group that's in a particular user group (or just make it so social groups and also be regulated by user groups).
