hmm I think I am doing it correct..

<td><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_statusicon]/forum_new.gif" alt="$vbphrase[contains_new_posts]" border="0" /></td>

and my forum_new.gif is in style/statusicon/ folder

the post_old goes like this: /style/statusicon/post_old.gif

and my post_new goes in the exact same folder
