Moving Login Block

I'm trying to move the login block that is in the Nabar/Breadcrumbs template>navbar to a side menu that i have implemented on my board. This is the code i pulled from the template, but i think im missing something or doing somthing wrong because it will log me in but not show that i am logged in.

could someone tell me what im doing wrong/ and or how to fix it?

It could be that the variables and phrases you are using aren't available to your sidebar. Where/how is your sidebar implemented?

I'm using the Ultimate Side Columns mod. I add all my links and such that i want displayed through templates....im not sure if thats the answer u were looking for or not lol

A lot of the code in the navbar template cannot be removed from it - if you do, you will see quirky side effects, like this one.

Why not? Why do those quirky side effects occure then?

Because the navbar is one of the last templates to be evaluated, always. If you try to move code from it, the variables that it needs will most likely not exist at the time.
