President Elect Obama plans to end Former President Clinton's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell", policy regards gays and lesbians serving in the military.

For me, I could care less who sleeps with who, as long as it's legal (over 18-not a child).

Does sexual orientation really matter when it comes to protecting a country, fighting wars?

The "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy is only dealing with sexual orientation; fraternization is a different policy...

some people are freaked out by gays, sounds crazy, but it's the truth. now take that and add in the fact that this person who is wierd or immoral by your standards is next to you in a foxhole with live fire everywhere and you need 100% trust in that person...the dynamics of the relationship change and could cause people to get hurt.

i think that is the way the military kind of looks at it.

millions of american males are against gay in their own circle of friends, but they all dream to see their girlfriend with another woman in bed... pathetic... "do what i want, not what i am"...

actually, they are against any gay situation, because they fear for their own asses, not able to understand that sexual behavior is in private... nobody wants to know what you're doing in your house... (at least that's what we want)

Well said, Hypocrisy is wonderful and selective at the same time. We see it everywhere though limited to a few who forget what it means. :up:

And you know this HOW? We are talking about a policy that was created to allow homosexuals in the military. The old policy didn't allow them and they were sought out and removed, it was old fashioned. Yes, their needs to be a new policy of total openess...
