Does anybody know if you can set new registrants to become part of a custom user group instead of the default registered user. Right now I am manually doing this and its a real pain.

I duplicated the Registered Usergroups - forum perms and usergroups perms - and then turned the Registered Usergroup into the New Regstered usergroup. I then set up a promotion to move them from one group to another at a certain time/post number.

Could Io this immediately by setting the promotion numbers to 0 move all the users to the new group. Then end the promotion and all new registrants from that day foreword would be in the dafault group?

You could simply go to Users > Prune / Move > select all the users in the Registration Group and move them to the new group.
