Hey everyone, I'm new to using vBulletin. /wave
I stumbled on a rather unique way to irritate an irritating member. You know the ones, they use large colorful fonts in all caps and always quote someone when replying together with using 3 different colors in one line... that kind of poster. In your 3.7.x head include file you have a javascript file call named vbulletin_global.js. Slap an if command around that line so that everyone still gets that request in their header EXCEPT for that member. You know ... if =="member number" do nothing else display the javascript request. What will happen is on the "Post New Thread" page he/she will still be able to post and use icons etc BUT all of the message style options will become NON clickable. The member won't have access to all of the"fonts" and "sizes" and B I U buttons etc. All of those features will be displayed on the Post New Thread page but none will be clickable since the javascript file is responsible for those links. Imagine his/her frustration? disclaimer: I don't yet know what else that file may/may not control but it most definitely will help put an end to those massive all italic bold colorful postings from just that one member for a little while, you can always undo it a day or two later. It may not be a bad thing for that member to have to type out every bold and color request manually for a little bit. |

No need for them to type all the bbcode if they have BBCodeXtra for firefox.
![]() Interesting solution though. |
