you want to install the Is Bot Mod, That will automaticall stop 99.9% of bots as it looks at the speed which registrations occur. an excellent mod and one which works great on my forums.

Then you want to try one of the other mods that allows you to ask questions and only allow registration if the answer is correct.

Theres so much you can do to prevent bots from registering, now theres no excuse
