New button in quick reply

Hi! Merry christmas and a happy new year!

Guys i need your help in order to installed a translator in my forum. I want to have an additional button in quick reply for example next to "Go Advanced". When you press this button you will get a popup with custom html code inside.

How can i do this?

Have you looked at the already existing translation mods? Do a search on "translat*" "all mods" "titles only"

Thank you for your response. I've already searched the forums with no success. Actually i want to install an external greeklish converter with a few lines of code.

I think something like this would do the job

<a href="#" onclick=" ...

by opening an html file on the server with the required code inside.
I think that a new button in quick reply next to the others would be perfect. But i have no idea what code and where to insert it in order to make the new button.

I would be grateful if you provided me with instructions and code as i am too newbie to write it myself.

Make the changes below in each of these two templates:
Showthread Templates -> showthread_quickreply
Postbit Templates -> postbit_quickedit

Find this:

<td><div class="imagebutton" id="{$editorid}_cmd_wrap0_quote"><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_editor]/quote.gif" width="21" height="20" alt="$vbphrase[wrap_quote_tags]" /></div></td>

and Add below it:

<td><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_editor]/separator.gif" width="6" height="20" alt="" /></td>
<td><a href="#" onclick="vB_Editor['$editorid'] ENTER YOUR LINES OF CODE HERE; return false">
<img src="$stylevar[imgdir_editor]/Graphic.gif" alt="graphic" border="0" /></a></td>

this will make a Button where you ask, But you'll have to play around with the code abit to try and get it to do what you want, let me know how you got on.

You'll need to replace the graphic.gif to an image that you want to use and uploaded onto your server

Ok what i've done. I have written an html document with the converter code inside. I uploaded it to my server. And then i replaced the

"vB_Editor['$editorid'] ENTER YOUR LINES OF CODE HERE; return false"

with the path of the html document on my server. Works like a charm!
