Default CMS Avenue

I run a small website about an athlete, and have now added the forums etc which are doing ok, we are changing the format in January and adding a few more runners.

Each athlete will update daily, A blog, a training schedule and any photos he wishes to add, also a race calender.

I was ok just doing one, with him emailing me, but now it seem right to have some sort of CMS as the workload for 8 athletes will be too much for me, as it stands the site and the forum run independent of each other.

Can anyone recommend a solution to this problem maybe using a CMS on the forum side, for the usage of unique login for each athlete, then pull the info from the DB onto the mainsite? main site is built in php.

Thanks for any recommendations in advance...

vBadvanced CMPS could handle your main page or portal and their Dynamics program could handle any articles that they wished to write. Not really a blog though.

vB.com has a blog product though.

vB can handle the calendars as well.

when u say vbadvanced cmps could handle the main page, i have in mind setting up php pages such as blogs etc, that will then pull the newest blog for that particular runner from a db table, now if i installed vb advanced could they login to the forum as usuall access there account and out there new blog in? and then use php to pull the relvant information onto the site? ive been looking at wordpress mu as well, as this has multi users available, have you had any interaction with wordpress at all?

what would be nice is if i could setup the users account for the given runners where when they login, they could then access and write new blogs , aticles etc and then as long as the table is in place i could pull the relevant information onto the website.

any help on this would be great

thanks

If you use vba's cmps for the main site, you could use the recent blogs module to pull info about the blogs onto the main page.

vBa also includes the ability to log into the forums from the main page since it uses the style of the forums. So you have the same header and footer templates being used. It makes the whole site look seamless. I really suggest that you take a look at the product descriptions as well as some of the sites that use vba's software.

And no, I haven't used wordpress.

Edit:forgot a link to their products: http://www.vbadvanced.com/products.php
