I am also building my own business and busy getting customers so that it can be a viable enterprise. Right now I have two sites that I am building as well. One based on vBulletin which is a donation to a social group I am a member of and the other is an ecommerce store. The code in the read me is copied directly out of my copy of vBulletin running at SitePoint forums and is operational there. It is the most up to date version of the code as far as I am aware. I haven't changed anything in six months. |

I didn't know you guys didn't get paid. Well that really sucks.
Well if I knew php I would improvise and what you started. I may just find the time to redo this hack. FYI though. 1. You can gain access to the post count required forum by running a search in that forum for a common word. 2. You can view the whos online, and if anybody is posting in a forum that requires a post count you can simply click on their location. 3. You can visit peoples profiles and if they last posted in a post count required forum you can get to it there. Once you have access to one thread in the forum, you can simply click prev or next thread to make your way through the forum. 4. If you set a post count, a lot of people just spam the board until they reach that post count. A better way would be to also incorporate a day limit like there is on personal avatars/titles. Also, if it just prevents you from seeing the forum, once people have the url of a specific thread inside the forum, they can simply email their friends the url of that one thread and your entire forum with the required post count is compremised. All this could be avoided if the post count check was added to check everytime a THREAD was accessed in the forum, instead of just entire into the FORUM itself. Just a few ideas/tips on anybody wanting to break into a post count required forum. It only blocks out the stupid posters. (No offense.) I just think this hack could have soo much more to it. If I knew php I would definantly work on this hack to improve it but I don't know php, nor do I really wish to learn it. I just wish somebody THAT DOES know php might take a look at this hack and ask themselves how they can improvise on it as best as possible. |
