E-Mail Questions
Hello,
E-Mail Questions is an e-mail forum that launched in August. I've been working to regularly add new content and original articles. What do you think of the forum? -Raymond |

August? You only have 34 members? (Not to sound offensive or anything) Do you even advertise?
Anyways... I don't like the topic too much, but it's a good forum, none-the-less. |

I advertise in a few ways. I have written several articles and submitted them to digg, stumble, and other such sites. They have gotten as many as 300+ visits on the first digg. I added the site to my signature on the forums I am active on, and even have a small adwords campaign. I did the standard initial run through link and RSS directories. If you have any other suggestions I'd like to hear them. The problem I believe is the biggest one is that the common user when they have a problem is more likely to ask a friend/family or call their ISP and not go looking for an internet forum. The more technical members and server administrators are most likely to stick around I'd think. It will be interesting to see in what direction the members lead the site.

I ended up figuring out a big problem around the time I created this thread.
The registration link at the top of the forums was pointing to a different site that I own. I did that accidentally by copy/pasting the guest notice from one site to the other but not changing the link. That explains why I was getting email questions via the other forums contact us form. Anyway, the members have almost double the last couple weeks and things are coming along much faster now. Plenty of new content created too! -Raymond |

Member base shouldn't be expected to be in the thousands for a site like this anyways. Most people who need help with their email provider will get it in the email client itself. I know I personally would never really think to look for a forum about it.
That being said, it works for Popowich, and that's cool with me. However, with THAT being said (yes, I meant to say this a second time).. when I think of a site like this that offers help / support for email providers I would think of a pretty bulky, community driven, FAQ system and nothing more (similar I guess to Yahoo Answers). I wouldn't personally do a site like this using vBulletin, as vBulletin is a message board software. But to each his own, right? As far as the style, it looks .. decent. It's a little plain, and I don't see a real point to having used vBadvanced.. but again, to each his own. Man, I repeated myself a lot in this post. |
