why is it sick to drink that many cans of coke per day ? - i work 12 hr shifts and work outdoors so getting cans from local shop to quench my thirst is the easy option.

Even I agree... I love soft drinks but.... I am very active and I have very good hygiene. I drink a good amount (almost 2 liters a day). I've tried to quit drinking them but I hate the diet drinks... I tried the "zero" drinks and honestly, they a better than diet but still aren't the same. Soft drinks are bad for you. If you are not using proper dental hygiene and exercise the soft drinks will get the best of you (causing obesity and dental problems..) No matter what you do, drink plently of water every day....

God I love Dr Pepper. I've made myself a promise to cut back on it though.

As a pack a day smoker who recently shot up to a two pack a day smoker due to now attending school and staying up later...well I'm screwed. I also go through a two-liter of Pepsi a day at home plus at least four 24 ounce bottles at school. Somehow my teeth still look fine though, only problems in that area are the fact that I need some wisdom teeth pulled. I'm having that done over winter break...it's going to be a wonderful Christmas

I also eat a lot of pork which I also hear is bad for you. In fact I bet about 80% of the food my family eats everyday is "bad" for us. But hey we live in the south...one of the few places where begin a little fat is considered begin healthy. You know what I think? I think if most people went back to having to grow their own food and catch/raise their own meat we'd all be better off for it.

I knew I was digging myself an early grave years ago. I don't even want to think about all the ways I've abused my body over the years...drugs (and nearly ODing more than once)...questionable women....my "need for speed" which almost got me killed plenty of times. I'm thankful I've slowed down a little, otherwise I probably wouldn't be around today.

Point is; Do whatever the hell you want. Just make sure that you're taking care of yourself and your responsibilities in the process.

The key really is being responsible with your health. There's no way to weed out everything that could possible be bad for you. Even home grown food bears the possibility of being contaminated by the ground it's grown in, so there's no fool proof method of eating 100% healthy. You just have to make good choices and not overdo any one thing.

Agreed. Most of you are not in the same position as I am. We've been working our land for years and I'll be the first to tell you that it isn't easy..for example the damn state was spraying god knows what kind of chemicals just last month on the outskirts of our farm. For all I know they could using some type of population control on us.

I still trust the stuff we grow ourselves over what I buy in the store any day of the week though!

I can imagine that sometimes even the stuff you have to put on the fields might make you think twice about it every now and again. I'm guessing you have to rely on pesticides and things like that from third party sources. (Unless you make your own. I would know. I'm a city boy. )
