Profile Icons Not Showing Up After Upgrade to v3.7.3
Our forum's profile icons are no longer visible now that we've upgraded to v3.7.3:
http://www.badbeatspoker.net/forum/m...ss-wonder.html If I switch to the default skin, the problem goes away. I'm unable to get anyone from vbSkins.com to respond to my emails after two weeks of waiting. And when I try to join their forum, it tells me that I've not answered their NoSpam! question correctly, even though no question is displayed. Is there an easy way to fix this, without having to change the skin, then reprogram everything from scratch? Can I just change some settings somewhere in the Admin panel to get the icons working correctly? Thanks in advance! |

To fix it yourself -
1) vboptions > General Settings > Add Template Name in HTML Comments > set to Yes . 2) Go to the page with problems, look at the source code to find the names of the templates being used that are spitting out the page 'incorrectly'. 3) Style manager > find the style > Edit Templates > select the template to edit 4) Hit View History > Compare to the default Jelsoft template. 5) Copy/Paste the differences into your template |

Much appreciated Lynne.
I got through step one pretty quickly, but step two has me stumped: Quote:
--------------- Added [DATE]1225380531[/DATE] at [TIME]1225380531[/TIME] --------------- OK, if I search the 43 pages of code for the word template, I then see the names of the 30 different templates used here. I assume there must be a way to determine which of these 30 templates need edited? |

Look at your page - the browser page - and notice where you are missing the profile icon. Look at some words around that area. Now look at your source code and find those words and you should find the area where you are missing the profile icon. Now look a little above that and you should see the name of the template.

Lynne, you're very helpful. Thanks much!
OK, I found and resolved the issue with the missing icons. It seems there were four .gif images that were not in the correct location (in the perwira style folder) on our forum server. I moved those images via FTP and now the icons show properly. So now I just have to figure out how to get the missing profile tabs to show up: Visitor Messages, About Me, Statistics, etc. I'm guessing this is something I could copy and paste into my perwira style template if I knew which one to address... http://www.badbeatspoker.net/forum/m...ss-wonder.html |

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=181191 I located the javascript in the Footer template and moved it to the end, outside of the table. Still no tabs at my end though. I will keep searching. Thanks again for all your help. --------------- Added [DATE]1225387093[/DATE] at [TIME]1225387093[/TIME] --------------- Ah ha! Turns out I had only moved part of the javascript code. It's all fixed now. Thanks again Lynne! |
