My site really has to get rid of the cyb chat that I'm running. Just chewing up far too many resources. I want to look in some type of java style chat. Can someone give me the low down on them? Have any suggestions for free or semi-cheap boards?

You have to set the delay time for auto-refesh my server crashed from it at 5 seconds till refresh but now its all good.Mines at 20 seconds its really fast and can handel the little members i have with easy.Board is new with huge features but it works fine also limit the words allowed and the settings for guests refresh time. As far as another choice theres an older mod called webchatter works for all 3.7.x versions I`ve use it but you need to have flash to use it. Its no on your site either so no real server load. Theres a javascript one on here as well i dont have the urls there older mods for version 3.7.x. Also try teamers.org or .com they made a chating software for vbulletin which makes it simialar to msn or yahoo. Hope this helps I`ll post links if I can find them tomorrow before school.

I have an AJAX chat that has no delay at all and can handle about 40 members on, including a few hundred in the forums. Would that help? The Cyb Chat really sucks IMO. No one wants a chat where you have to wait 5+ seconds on delay.
