What's a good mod to prevent spam?

I don't want anything tacky like click the butterfly etc.. is their anymore settings in the admin cp I can turn on? I remember having a mod on my old forums which I sold that stopped people from posting links till xx posts and it helped stop spam accounts from signing up.
