GARS returns - is it worth it?
I just saw that GARS has be resurrected: http://www.thevbgeek.com/geekmart.ph...ayproduct&id=3
Does anyone use it and is it worth it? I remember it dying a while back and I thought it had security issues. Does anyone use it? I'm looking for a multi-page article system w/directory. |

resurected ?!... you're a little bit late, this announce is 6 months old... http://www.thevbgeek.com/showthread.php?t=3718 ... and actually was not dead, Morgan took-over Sam's work, that's all...
is it worth it?!.. it all depend on what you need... there is no possibility for you to have the right answer here, because GARS is a commercial script and not released here... |

Ok, so maybe I'm late, but it's not very widespread it seems, perhaps because it's commercial. My site is http://www.mikhailtech.com and right now I'm using a custom script with mod_rewrite to parse articles from a particular forum and display them in multi-page format. It works but I'd like something a bit more integrate and am wondering if GARS is it. I know people use some sort of article systems here, just wanted some feedback.

the best aritcle product that I ever used. Makes your form more integrated with your users submission of guides, articles etc. It keeps neat and clean. I have it on 3 of my sites.

can you post a link or two? I'm curious to see what it looks like customized on sites as opposed to just the standard demo. my understanding is that it still preserves all of your vb data (doesn't add or alter tables at all), just reformats a specified forum?

http://www.flyffworld.com/forums/f117/ http://www.wundar.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=57 I did a bit of change to mine. There's more features that should be on the default. |

Does VB Dynamics have pagination? I don't remember seeing it. Also, is there a way to just have the comments on the last page or an AJAX-style drop down expansion?
Does VBD alter/add any tables to the VB database? |
