I want to allow mods to post html. Multiple reasons, but that isn't my question.
Apparently it is dangerous to allow users to post html. I don't understand this, but I will trust that it is bad because I have read it several times here. Is something like this the best way to do this? https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...highlight=html The reason(s) I need to allow HTML: RSS feeds look like poop otherwise I want to post affiliate links within posts (for products that we are reveiwing) |

Why do you need HTML for that? How will it make RSS feeds look any better, and why is the URL BBcode not enough for an affiliate link?

The RSS feeds through Google are HTML, no?

When setting up the RSS feed, you have the option to allow HTML in the RSS feeders posts. But i would be very carefull with this. If the external feed has an error in the HTML code (or worse: insert mallicous code) it can bring your site down.

I am using RSS feeds from ESPN and Google, so I feel fairly confident that they won't have malicious content. But I hear your concern.
I don't like the way they look without HTML. Not sure how to get the job done with bbcode, but I will look into that. |
