Difference In Rotate and Refresh Ads?

I am wanting to have a banner mod and a large block/cell right side column. I would like both of these to be flash enabled. But isn't a rotating banner and auto-refresh banner the same thing? Is there a difference? Same thing for the column? I have found plenty of mods that have rotating/refresh banners but not one for columns that rotate/refresh besides the Advertisement System V2.4 Aka Ad Management mod which seems to be very confusing and not fully funtional yet. Any rotating column ad mods?
