After Move to New Website - Restore Not Working HELP !

I no longer have access to my other website where I had my vbulletin forum but I did make a backup about a week ago.

So I installed vbulletin to my new website and did that correctly. The forum is working.

I uploaded my backup to the correct MySQL database. Even though it was large, I did it with bigdump.

But the forum still only shows one member, me. None of the posts or members at all. Still just me. I've been wracking my brains over this. Tried all different ways of installing, new SQL databases, etc. I STILL can't get the forum to show the backup.

What the heck am I doing wrong?

Yes, config.php file is correctly configured.

I think the problem is that bigdump doesn't put the CSV files in the tables at all as you are supposed to enter that in when you configure bigdump. So there are no CSV files at all in my new MySQL data base.

I'm going to try another way of importing the large MySQL file. I don't have Telnet or SSH.

And what do you see through phpMyAdmin (or whatever tool you use to work with MySQL) in the database - are the posts really in the Post table?

Why do you need a CSV file to go with an SQL dump? I thought those were just two different formats of backup, not complementary

I see only some of the tables showing up in the Admincp. PM's for example. But no users, passwords, or posts for example.

That's why I think it has to do with the CSV tables not being put correctly. I've read other posts by people having the same problems and no one seems to have the answer.

I think it has to do with big dump and that bigdump doesn't place the CSV files into the correct tables when using it to transfer vbulletin backups.

What do you mean why do I need CSV files for vbulletin backup? Hell, almost all of the backups are csv files.

So the problem is with your backup file then... you'll need to find a way of making a proper backup then or something.

I have never seen anyone using CSV files for a database backup.

What is the format of the backup file you have, how was it created?

The back up file was created by vbulletin by using the admin function.

I'm going to try this. Uninstall everything and then go step by step to follow directions to install it and restore it but have my host tech guy load the backup in the mySql database for me. He offered to help with the file. It's larger than 50MB so I can't do it myself.

I'll see how that goes.

A backup of 50Mb created from the AdminCP will most likely not be complete! the AdminCP backup function is not suitable for larger backups.

I would start by checking if you have any complete backup.

I have three backup files made via the admin control panel, the largest and most recent being 79MB.

I also have the physical files that I copied from the website via FTP to my computer of the forums and entire website.

That's all I have to work with, I no longer have access to the old website.

I installed vbulletin to the new site, it is working as a forum (with one member) and my new host's tech guy said that he would help me out in restoring the MySQL file to the forum. So we'll see if it works.

One other quick question, will I have to upload the physical files that I have on my computer in the forum folder once the back up is restored? I'd imagine that things like avatars and all that would have to be put on the new host.

Do I just click and drag the 'folder' directory to the host via FTP and click 'overwrite the files'? Or will that mess up the forum?

He's trying to load it now and this is all we get from the files.

BUT ! When I open the backup with notepad, I can read all the posts. So I don't think the backup isn't a complete file. I can read all the history of posts.

But this is all that shows up when we put it into the MySQL database for vbulletin:
