Where is
I downloaded the "Spoiler Mod" and don't understand the first point -
Installation instructions: 1. Upload all content in ./upload folder of plugin to your forum root directory 2. Import XML file through ACP: Plugin System > Manage Products > [Add/Import Product] 3. Optional: edit ./clientscript/vbulletin_css/spoiler.css to customize spoiler There is a folder titled "Upload" in the mod , do I simply drop it in when I access my server via FTP , that's the root directory yes ? See image please, |

Not knowing this mod.
You usually open up ftp. Open the folder upload, and copy its contents. Then within ftp, navigate to forum/ Then paste contents. It may ask to merge contents, click yes to all Generally then you upload the product in admincp. Ozzy |

Your forum root refers to the directory in which you have installed your vBulletin forum.
Upload the contents of the upload folder to that directory. |

This is the mod -
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...ht=spoiler+tag So the mod includes an XML file and a folder titled "Upload" with a bunch of stuff in it. When you say upload the contents, can I simply copy and paste the "Upload" folder in the root directory. The above pic is how it looks when I access my site via FTP - is that the root directory, or public_html? |

I havent looked at or downloaded the mod. I suspect, you ( in ftp ) need to open public_html folder, and then click on the folder for your forum(s) this is then classed as being at the root of your forum. Then the mod you downloaded, you would have unzipped, usually there is a folder called UPLOAD and an xml product file. Open the upload folder, select all and copy, then goto ftp and in the root of your forum folder, PASTE . Then when its uploaded, usually, goto yourwebsite.com/forum/admincp and go to add products. Locate the product for this mod ( the xml ) and import. Done |

By root directory they mean the directory/folder where vB is installed. This is probably public_html according to your picture...

Thanks guys - I found the root directory - I believe this is the ROOT directory , right ?
But you say I should copy and paste what's in the mod's Upload folder into the root -- but when I open the mod's "Upload" folder, there's layers of nestled folders, so opening the folder reveals 2 other folders, "Clientscript" and "Images" Can't paste that as there is already a folder named "Images" in the root , and it'd overwrite. Should I just copy and paste the whole folder called "Upload", or rename something ? |

Yes that is your forum root.
Use your common sense. Look how your forum root directory also has a clientscript folder. You need to upload your files so that they match up, so the contents of the clientscript directory are uploaded automatically to the clientscript directory on your server. You need to upload the contents (i.e. what is inside) of the "upload" folder to your forum root. You probably won't overwrite the entire images directory, there is most likely and extra image in "upload/images" folder, that needs to be on your folder. |

Basically, if you select all of the folders in the folder called UPLOAD. Right click and select copy. Then in forum root, find some whitespace, to paste, and paste. FTP, will usually throw up a option, copy/replace/merge. Click MERGE. This means the folder structure you are copying, merges with the existing folder structure you have. If you check very closely, coders, rename their images, folders and files, to be supplementary files, not replacement files, so its very uncommon that you will ever overwrite an existing file name, from another product or hack. |
