I think it's useful for those who regularly update their mods and wanted to provide further details (like a change log, etc). In the past, I've been annoyed that I had to search a 50+ page mod thread for updates to very specific problems.

Of course, for those who don't update their mods, it's just blank space, but it wouldn't hurt
