Ok, for the life of me I can't figure out why this is happening. The borders show up except when I view a thread. How the hell do I fix this?????

You would have to take a look at your source code to see why that is happening. I would guess it's in your showthread template just above the postbits. Perhaps a spacer or something (div tags closed at the wrong place?).
