editing templates
I want to add some info before the doctype in my forum
So far i have only found the doctype in FORUM HOME DISPLAY and FORUM DISPLAY If i edit these two files to add my code in will that cover all pages in my site? |

i did and foudn that i could only find it in these two but i was wonderin if it is stored anywhere else possibly in a different stylevar or something like that
just a yes or no would be the most help |

What are you doing a search on? If I search for "$stylevar[htmldoctype]" in my templates, I end up with a huge list of templates.

ok i have now found load of templates. i had not been searching correctly before do i need to edit them all or can i edit maybe just two which would cover most of the pages in my site? |

If you only want to edit some, then think about the pages you mostly go to on your site and make sure to edit those pages (index, forumdisplay, showthread, etc.).

yeah i want really to just have the most used pages. i am not to bothered about a lot of them but i wanted to check if forum home and forumdisplay would cover most of them? or do i need showthread also

Well, do people come to your site just to look at the forums listed on the index page and on forumdisplay or do they actually go read the threads? I know on my site, showthread is much more popular than just the forum index pages.
