images not working

so i migrated my site from a server i had in my basement to a web hosting company. i made a copy of my file structure and then uploaded it to the web hosting company server. i backed up my mysql database and then uploaded it. then changed my ip address and went to the site. its up and runs. the database is there and the forum is there. the main problem i get is that the images are not showing up. they have the same file structure as before and are pointing in the right place, but they dont show up. anyone have any ideas on why they do not show up?

well this image works. Make sure your images URL are pointing to the correct path of your photobucket account.

But why hosting most basic images on somebody else's server?? they would be much easier to manage if you put them on your server.

well i just went from a dsl connected server to a web hosting server. the reason i had some images on a photobucket account was because they were larger images and would take a lot longer to load up from my dsl connection vs a photobucket connection.

and as i stated in a post above, some images work some do not. the ones that do work i have being pulled from a photobucket account. the ones that do not work do not load from a photobucket account but rather from the images folder. here are where they are pointing to:
title images: images/styles/fancygray/misc/vbulletin3_logo_white.gif
Button Images Folder : images/styles/fancygray/buttons
Item Status Icon Folder : images/styles/fancygray/statusicon
Attachment Icons Folder : images/styles/fancygray/attach
Miscellaneous Images Folder : images/styles/fancygray/misc
Text Editor Controls Folder : images/styles/fancygray/editor
Poll Images Folder : images/styles/fancygray/polls
Ratings Images Folder : images/styles/fancygray/rating
Reputation Images Folder : images/styles/fancygray/reputation

and those folders are there and all of the images are located in those folders.

DOES THIS IMAGE EXIST IN THIS LOCATION ??? check it through your FTP !!

that file is there if i log in through my ftp or filemanager. would it have to do anything with the permissions set on the files? i forgot to mention that i went from an apache server running on a windows 2000 server box to apache running on a linux box. sorry for leaving that little bit of information out.

it cannot be a permission problem ..

thats strange.. if that file IS THERE on that location.. it must open.

I am getting a 404 Error which means, that the image simply does not exist on that location.
Try consulting your host, he can give you the best reply !!

well you were semi right. the image files were there, but they were ther in the folder called Styles and my links were looking for a folder by the name of styles. i forgot about the whole case sensitive thingy.

but its up and working and thanks for the help.
