I have tons of useless files spread through out my vBulletin directory, and I was wondering if this would work.
I'll be upgrading to 3.7 soon (from 3.6.4 or something) and was wondering if I could just wipe all the entire forum directory, upload the new files, edit the config.php file with the database details and run through the upgrade process as usual for the database. And of course I'd have to re-upload attachments, avatars etc too. ![]() |

You could, but I would not recommend it.

Data for the is stored in the database, presuming you have no modifications installed then you could. I'd recommend that you upgrade first to vB 3.7 and then wipe and re-upload the directory, don't try and do both at the same time.
However if you have modifications installed you may risk loosing files and messing up modifications e.t.c. |
