You would need to overwrite your database with the back up and then re-upload vB 3.6 files.

You mean....
I inset the backup in MySQL, then I install all the 3.6.8 files, then I add the backup to my FTP? Eric E. |

You would use a program that deals with your database (and allows uploading of .sql files). Upload that to your forum's database (overwriting all the tables before). Then upload the 3.6.8 PL2 files using your FTP client.

Maybe we can help you figure out the error problem. Are you getting a database error? Can you paste it here?
The only way to downgrade is put your site back to how it was before the upgrade. That means put back all the old 3.6.8 files (php files and attachments, avatars, etc if they are in the filesystem) and upload the backed-up 3.6.8 database. Make sure you have nothing left from your 3.7 upgrade. You cannot simply downgrade a database that has already been upgraded to 3.7 (OK, you could go through all the upgrade scripts and undo all the steps they took to change your database, but who knows how long or how easy that would be). edit: Wow, you guys posted a lot since I started to write my reply. It's a little old now, sorry. |

Okay, I highly doubt it, but, I'll still try it, Lol.

Are you posting the error? Cause we can most likely help you fix it if you want to stay with vB 3.7!
Lynne, it's cool. |

I already got it down to 3.6.8 by restarting my whole forum. I'm uploading my backup now.
