All you really need to change are 2 things:
- Cookie Settings ...if you have it set so cookies are stored to your old domain name, just change it to your new domain
- Forum URL in Site Name/URL settings

Most people I know with 2 or 3 domains run the board smoothly...If you want, you can go into your server admin panel and forward all visitors from the old domain to the new one and enable wild card redirection as well.
