forum as link in new window

i ve using 3.6.8

and as one of my Forum (category) i want to have a link to external page. in acp i define this. good
... almost

i want to open this link in new window, where i need to change code in template to have this feature?

maybe i was bad description of my problem

i dont want learn html! i know it from about 10 years

ok. lets start again

in acp i can create a forum as link (redirect to other page, not other page on forum) and i need to have this link in new window.

example
root node
1. first forum category
2. second forum category
3. third forum category (is link to other domain) this should open in NEW WINDOW
4. fourth forum category

now should be more clear

I'm not sure you can do this without having all those forum categories open in a new window unless you go into the template and do a conditional to say "if third forum category, add target=blank" into the link.

in forumhome_forumbit_level2_post

find

<a href="forumdisplay.php?$session[sessionurl]f=$forum[forumid]"><strong>$forum[title]</strong></a>

replace with

<a href="forumdisplay.php?$session[sessionurl]f=$forum[forumid]" <if condition="$forum['link']">target="_blank"</if>
><strong>$forum[title]</strong></a>

This will make the link open in a new window from forumdisplay.php


in forumhome_subforumbit_nopost change to the following

<img class="inlineimg" src="$stylevar[imgdir_statusicon]/subforum_$forum[statusicon].gif" alt="" border="0" id="forum_statusicon_$forum[forumid]" /> <a href="forumdisplay.php?$session[sessionurl]f=$forum[forumid]" <if condition="$forum['link']">target="_blank"</if>

This will make the link open in a new window from forumhome or the index page

The code worked only when the link was for an immediate subforum. I wanted the link to be for a subforum under a subforum.
