Default newb help

Hello,

First off, I apologize if I posted this in the wrong section....Anyhow, to my question. My fiance & I plan on buying Vbulletin within the next month & needed to know a few things.

1: How 'flexible' is Vbulletin to modifications?

We ask this because we do plan on having a programmer make modifications that would suit us but need to know whether the mods are possible.

The mods consist of integrating an Adult area for paid members that will consist of an area that they may view our 'models' Live on cam...Is this a possible mod that could be done? An "escrow" type of mod, is this a possibility?

2: How 'flexible' is the layout of Vbulletin?

We ask this because we plan on having several areas of the forum, I.E. Adult Area and we need each area to have its own unique style. Is this possible?

3: If we are going to hire a programmer, where is the best possibly place to find one that is qualified for the request we may have?

We don't want to put all this effort into this and get screwed is all. We have a designer and know a little bit of designing ourselves...Programming is the area which we lack any intelligence of.

If anyone can help us with the questions above, it would be WELL appreciated!! Thanks so much!!

hi, the questions can be answered quickly:

1- vBulletin have a API that help on integration with external tools... so you can find a software that is acting like you ask, for models, and it would require some coding to integrate it to vBulletin, like for authentication of members, but that's possible. aMember is a good start for subscriptions between two engines

2- the template system is very flexible, as example, you can have a unique style for each forum inside vBulletin, and you can let your users modify their CSS in their own profile, like in MySpace...

3- the best place to Require a Paid Service is in the forum of the same name on this site... be precise, without too much details, give a ETA, budget, description of tasks, and require to have a popular/in demand coder... people with 3 posts and no portfolio will never be good coders... they can trick you with smalltalk.
