How do I get members?
Hi
I really need some more, active members on my site. Has anyone got any help for me on how I can do this? It is greatly appreciated! VirtualShiner |

It's hard work!
You need some content first. Then you need to get into search engines. Check out The Admin Zone, a fantastic resource centre for this sort of thing (as well as many other forum matters). |

Typically, they register on your site.

If I might be so bold, that is not terribly helpful.
The Original Poster is seeking help to GET them to register on his site. |

My only advice is to start with the basics - find a number of people who are interested in the topic of your forum, and get them to sign up and post. If you absolutely have to, pay someone to post on your forum, just to get the ball rolling, and don't forget to submit your site to google. |

I also get some results putting vbseo sitemap on (not the full vbseo product, just the free sitemap). This brings Google and Yahoo in quite quickly but it's only of any real benefit when there is at least some content there for them to spider. |

But only view them as a temporary "leg up". They aren't a permanent solution. The Admin Zone also has a "launch team" who may be able to assist you. It really is a very good site and I'd urge you to have a look over there as the help and advise offered is second to none. |
