Handling RSS Feeds
I have recently been playing around with the RSS feed configuration options and on my test site have configured this to spit new posts into an "RSS Feeds" forum. This works brilliantly.
One it was all bolted in and working I then used the following nav template change: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=172811 To prevent the RSS auto posts from appearing in the "New Posts" search. This was done as otherwise the RSS posts were swamping real user posts and making new posts functionality pointless. Now I need to do one final tweak, and this is definately one for vb.org: Once the RSS bot posts the RSS item community members can then post replies and discuss the feed item on the created thread. If a member replies to one then they have obviously found the item interesting and worth commenting, and as such it would be great if this could be highlighted to the rest of the community. Problem is this forum is now excluded from New Posts So is there any way to include threads where the postcount is greater than 1 in the search? Or maybe once a single reply has been made the thread is automatically moved to an alternative forum? This would allow the boring rss items to disappear and the good ones highlighted to the rest of the community. Any ideas? EDIT: After some hunting around I found the following search.php?do=process&exclude=14&replyless=0&reply limit=1&showposts=0 Which is almost there as the reply* query string parameters define posts with at least 1 reply. Now I just need to find out someway of including the excluded forum for those posts (did that make sense ) |
