Hi,
this sounds totally moronic... but.... i edited this morning one of the css files manually (aka not through vb admin interface) (yes, I have them stored as files) and now ... I cant find that css file ?! Does vbulletin automatically deletes some css files or something ( I AM SURE what the filename was and what i modified).... im just stumped..... Its more frustrating not finding an explanation that loosing data.... any idea?:erm: |

vBulletin generates the CSS file some how, and after so long it gets replaced with a new one and so on. You should never edit that CSS file, and why you'd edit it, is "totally moronic"
Next time, built in editor to edit CSS file, theres a block at the bottom for additonal css if you need that. |

No you can't disable it without modifying alot of code probably.
How is it fast by hand? You still have to type the code, and still have to hit save. Same process for using the AdminCP CSS editor...and it's guaranteed not get deleted ![]() |

The css filename gets changed everytime you edit anything regarding that style in the admin cp. I knew that (by experience), however I didn't know it got changed 'just because'. Do you know what the rational is behind that?

i dunno, i wasn't sure of why or when it got changed, i just knew it got changed, it might only change when you edit the css like you said, i honestly have no clue when or why though

apparently it also edits the edit that im sending through the webgui, I see i now have to edit the edits the forum made to my edits.
i fail to see the logic |

Are you sure you aren't doing something else also cuz I remember I once uploaded a css file I changed and it was just fine. I changed it on my computer, uploaded it onto my site, and then went to the css part of the Styles and it was all updated.
Did you make sure you didn't change the format of it at all because it is setup to be a certain way (a certain order to be read by the CSS page). |
