Hi folks,

I've been using FlashChat with vBulletin but many users complain that it is too slow.
Indeed even on my 3.4 GHz PC it seems slow.
I've tried tweaking the settings but it seems there's only so much one can do in that area.

Does anybody know of a faster chat program to use with vBulletin?

We were using vbChat in our forum, it was nice but slow.... and server load was very, VERY high... so a few days ago, i finally decided to go to a remotely hosted chat

Now we are using Planet Minibox shoutbox; it is not a real chat, but it is a very advanced and fast shoutbox; the premium version has memberbase integration: http://www.planetminibox.com/home/en-us/features.php
and i could "integrate" it with vBulletin (well, not exactly an "integration" but it works).

However, I would like to change for a REAL chat... i know that the real solutions are Parachat, 123FlashChat, etc.... very expensive...

Flashchat ($5) is very good but slow at >20 users whereas 123FlashChat ($200 minimum) seems to offer almost nothing more.

I don't think we'd mind going with IRC at this point.
