Server Recommendation Needed · **Released**: 02-26-2008

Dear Everyone,

I have a fairly big site located in Moscow, Russia. I would like to move it out of Russia but still have it geographically close to Moscow as hosting servers located in the US seem to take forever to load.

Can anyone recommend a good, english speaking, hosting company in Eastern Europe / Europe with a decent Control Panel as well as root access.

That would be tough since most hosting is done in the US/UK, but I would suggest browsing web hosting forums and not vbulletin.org.

You can get cheaper and better server in the US. You can check out www.mxhub.com for dedicated servers.

I've found German hosting to be pretty quick for Europeans. Hetzner.de is pretty well known and have decent pricing.

do me a favor see how well the routes are to you use this speed test file:

http://www.readytohost.net/100MB download that file if you get good speeds and routes you could go with the dedicated servers listed there.
