Hello,
I am in the process of creating some custom functionality for a vB 3.6.8 board that allows the users to view custom data on the screen. I am struggling to get the data from the array to the screen. How would I do this? Basically I have an Array with custom information in it. I would like to display it out to the screen as a hyper links. The user would click on one of the links and would be taken to another page, displaying other data based on that selection. I would like the data to be printed to the screen in a similar fashion as the "standard" forum display. Any advice would be awesome, thanks! |

Can you give an example of the contents of this array?

![]() ![]() Basically the Array contains certain user groups. I would like to display the user groups to the screen as a link. The user will then click on the User Group they want to see, and then I will display all posts from users in that user group. So really, the "User Group" Array only contains the list of User Groups, which I need to display as a link. Thanks! |

ok,
So I've tried some stuff, still with no luck. To grow what I am trying to do: Add a link to the Navbar, which is available at all times (done and working) That link will take you to a page listing a certain selection of user groups, marked so by the admin during User Group Creation. I created the bitfield and updated the Usergroup DB table. That is good. I created the template for the Usergroup display page. I also created the the "usergroupdisplay.php" page. I verified that the template was called correctly from the php and life was good (Thanks to Gary King for his Tutorial!) I created a result set containing the results of the sql against the database. I have a while loop circling through the result and reading the array as shown below: Code:
$spec_groups = $db->query_read("select * from usergroup where spec_permissions = 1"); while ($group_array = $db->fetch_array($spec_groups)) { //BUILD DISPLAY FUNCTIONALITY HERE! } User Group Description user group 1 User Group 1 is neat! user group 2 User Group 2 likes cheese! user group 3 User Group 3 is a unique group for people dress like ninjas! I want the underlined user groups to link to another page that displays all posts from all users in that group. I am hopping that the link would look something like this: Code:
http://www.myvbforum.com/usergroupdisplay.php?group="user group 1" I've searched through the forums and the vB manual, but I've not found anything. I guess I don't know what I am looking for! Any help would be awesome! Thanks guys! kainthedragoonx --------------- Added [DATE]1205250677[/DATE] at [TIME]1205250677[/TIME] --------------- hahaha nevermind, I totally pwned this problem.
