hi guys

I am upgrading my current service of shared hosting from godaddy to a virtual server with following specs:

The Economy plan includes:

• 10 GB disk space
• 500 GB bandwidth
• 512 MB RAM Guaranteed (what is the diffrence between 256mb guranteed and 512mb gauranteed? 256mb gauranteed is $15 cheaper)
• Windows: 2003 Enterprise Ed
• Plesk 30-domain control panel

Cost: 37.77/12 month

I never really had issues with godaddy in past.

Any better services out there you guys reccomend for same/cheaper price?

I would stay away from the GoDaddy shared Windows servers. Most of their shared windows servers are known to have a configuration that is not too friendly towards a vBulletin board.

Best VPS host I've ever used, hands down. Their support is fantastic - the support manager even called me on my way to work one day to make sure I was happy.

Guaranteed RAM is not a limit, but a minimum availability of RAM for your VPS. No matter how much RAM other VPS’s use, this amount is available to you at all times. A great advantage of using VPS technology is that your VPS is able to burst over its guaranteed amount of RAM. You can go ahead with RAM as per your requirements.

I would never go with GoDaddy for any hosting solutions at all. If you find the right host, you could get a dedi with better specs/same specs for around that price. My host has some sales, www.crissic.com/dedisales.html -- been with them and no problems so far. Skylar the owner is VERY nice and knows what he's doing!

That seems quite expensive, have a look at www.knownhost.com if you are in the US, I'm in the UK and switched to http://a2b2.com/ They do everything, shared, reseller, VPS and dedicated in the UK or the US. TBH it's the best move we've made. Excellent support and a nice quick server.

The extra ram makes a big difference if you are using a control panel like Plesk or cPanel.
